Takis Zerdevas studied graphic design in Athens and photography in Paris, while also working as a freelance photographer. In 1985 he returned to Athens and established FOCUS, a school of photography and multimedia. He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. His works are to be found in private and public collections, including the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, the Benaki Museum in Athens, the Museum of Photography in Thessaloniki and other.

Employing photography and video, Takis Zerdevas isolates fragments of reality and includes them -without any distortion- in a constructed unit. With this unit he comments and reflects on human substance in a rather sarcastic way. His photographs and video-works as well as his installations, can be approached and translated through multiple levels, transcending with ease any limits the medium he chooses to use might bring up.
